Today’s belated Daily Dose is a flashback to February 2024 and a dusting of snow on Sedona’s Lee Mountain.

The weather forecast today shows a good chance that the mountain tops around Sedona will get another dusting this afternoon — probably the last one of this season.

If you haven’t been to Sedona during a snowstorm, it’s something to experience. Each winter there’s usually 2-3 storms that will bring snow all the way down into Sedona proper.

Of course, its nearly impossible to plan a trip from out of state and time it with such a storm. But if you’re lucky, it could work out. Winter is my favorite time in Sedona, whether or not snowy weather is in the forecast.

Cool temperatures and thinner crowds (especially for early morning hikes) make it a great time to enjoy the red rock country. And the winter sun hanging low in the southern sky makes even the midday light cast an interesting angle on the terra cotta cliffs and buttes.

Well, I gotta run off and get my errands done. I hope you all are well. Take care, friends.
