We rang in spring just a few days ago and the Phoenix airport is trying really hard to hit 100 degrees, so that means we’re nearly to waterfall season!

And so here’s a favorite waterfall of mine, along Tonto Creek north-east of Payson, Arizona. These unnamed twin cascades can’t be much more than ten feet tall, but they sure are photogenic, and offer a refreshing little swimming hole at the bottom.

An easy-to-access spot, I’m surprised it’s not busier, but the very close-by and uber-popular Horton Creek sucks up most of the attention. Not that I’m complaining.

I myself did very little waterfall chasing last year, so perhaps this summer it’s time to do the opposite of what TLC says and spend more time tromping around in the high country creeks in search of tumbling cascades.

That makes wetlands birding and waterfall chasing on the to-do list. I’m ready for a nap just thinking about it, ha. It’s also 10:47pm as I write this so…just go ahead and laugh at me as your read this drinking your morning coffee.

This Daily Dose is really going off the rails now, so time to sign off. Happy Waterfall Wednesday, everyone.
