Once upon a time (okay, it was like six months ago), my friend Chris and I watched the sun come up in Monument Valley.

Okay, so we didn’t just watch it happen, we photographed it too. Obviously. But let me tell you, watching this bank of clouds turn every shade of fire behind the silhouettes of the Mittens…well, it was pure magic.

One of the most magical mornings I’ve ever experienced in fact. And I’m really not a fan of getting up early for sunrise, but damn if this one wasn’t special. I’ll never forget it. It makes me feel thankful that I have the time and the ability to go with good friends and feel the magic of Mother Nature.

I hope you’ve felt the magic lately, and if not, I hope you find a way to get there.
